Mission:
To provide quality healthcare services, education, livelihood support and empowerment to the war affected communities in Uganda.
Friends of Orphans (FRO) is a Non-Governmental Charity Organization (NGO), is a non-religious, non-political and non-profit making, based in Uganda. We work to transform lives through holistic approach. We have been running a comprehensive aid program for the war affected vulnerable communities in Uganda since 1999. We emphasize community based solutions to poverty by working with local people and local talents.
We believe true transformation of a society can only come through education, vocational skills training, affordable healthcare services, women empowerment, climate change, peaceful coexistence, water and sanitation, food security and livelihood support programs. Friends of Orphans provides the tools and technical support necessary for the community to achieve full potentials.
We are championing community-based education, vocational skills training, quality healthcare services, women empowerment programs, climate change programs, water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS, human rights, peace building and community development programs in Uganda which address the immediate and long term needs of the community, many of whom are orphans and women, many of whom are widows and child mothers. Friends of Orphans have board of directors and a secretariats managed by well qualified, experienced and competent staffs with diverse experiences in several fields among others such as administrators, medical officers, educators, environmentalists, and in other professions. We have a constitution and different policies and standing orders as guiding tools that the organization operates under.
